All student and coach participants must complete a VEX Release form. Please make sure all memebers of your team have filled out the form and have obtained an authorized signature from a parent or guardian.

Event Maps


Event Information

What to Expect

  • 2 Event Fields
  • 1 Practice Field
  • 1 Pit table per team
  • 1 power station (Bring your Own Charger)
  • All Fields will be on stage. Only Drivers and Game officials are allowed on stage.


Inspection

  • Size will be determined with the "Vex Worlds" IQ Sizing tool (see photo)
  • To avoid crowding, please send only 2 team members to the sizing table
  • Once Sized, a second inspector will complete your inspections paperwork
  • Reminder: Zip Ties are NOT legal Vex IQ components, even for cable management. Robots with zip ties will NOT pass inspection.
  • Please Review Rule <R5> in the Game Manual and ensure your robot never exceeds the 11" x 19" x 15" boundary.


ROBOT SKILLS

  • Each Team will receive a "Skills Challenge Card"
  • Skills matches are on a First Come, First Serve basis. Participation in Skills matches is the responsibility of the team.
  • Each team will have 3 chances at Driver Skills, and 3 chances at Programming Skills
  • Each time a team goes through the skills field, the Skills officials will punch their card
  • Teams are responsible for their Skills card.
  • Skills Fields close at 11:00 am . Any team in line with a robot at that time, will be allowed to finish skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Each team will receive a set of "Driver" badges
  • Only students with Driver badges will be allowed into the queuing area
  • Only 2 students at a time are allowed into the Queuing area or Driver Fields
  • You may change drivers between matches as many times as you choose.
  • Any disputes of scores must be made BY the students, PRIOR to leaving the Driver Fields
  • Teams should be ready to go once they reach the Queuing tables, matches will not be postponed due to a team failing to Que, low battery, etc.


STEM PRESENTATIONS

    • STEM Videos will NOT be judged at the Spring Open this year.

Weather and Cancellations

Weather with be examined no less than 24 hours prior to event. If event is cancelled due to weather, it will be rescheduled. No refunds will be provided.
